2010 Trip Reports
Easter Camping - High Plains, Feathertop and Bogong
We headed down to Victoria with Andrew, Nick and Nadia. Camped near Hotham, climbed Mt Feathertop, camped on the high plains, visited Wallaces Hut and climbed Mt Bogong.
2009 Trip Reports
Xmas Trip to the Mountains - 2009
We caught up with Jonathan's mob. Nice day walk up to Club Lake, Carruthers and out to the Sentinel. Highlight was a large ice cave i found along Soil Con Creek.
Main Range - 28-30 September 2009
Mark, Damien and I headed out after an epic late Septeber dump. SeCamped up near the Sentinel. Skiing was pretty ordinary as it warmed up at the tail of the system and new snow turned to gloop. Sking Carruthers North and Watsons Creek.
Ramshead Snow Camping - 6 September 2009
Mirandah and I headed out from Thredbo. Only got as far as Ramshead. Camped out for the night in the Kiva and built a snow cave to cook in. Nice trip home along the Murray River, where we got sensational views back to the mountains.
Day trip at Perisher and day trip over to Mt Tate with Mark. Couple of good runs down Tate proper.
Leatherbarrel Creek and Twynam West - 8-9 August 2009
Another fanastic day trip to Leatherbarrel Creek and the Twin Humps from Thredbo. Followed by a day tour out to Twynam West Spur. No skiing out at Twynam as everything was shiny ice.
Tate East Ridge and Twin Valleys - 24-25 July 2009
Day trips to Tate East Ridge and The Twin Valleys. Some great snow on Tate but wind affected at Twin Valleys.
Leatherbarrel Creek - 17 July 2009
Day trip over to Leatherbarrel Creek and the Twin Humps from Thredbo. Awesome snow, great runs and a some great afternoon light. Some of my favourite photos of 2009 in this report.
Geehi / Khancoban Area - 5 July 2009
We visited Olsens lookout, Geehi plains, and some hills east of Khancoban.
Mt Hotham - Inbounds 12 June 2009
Some early season turns at Mt Hotham before it was open. A fine day with views of Mt Feathertop and a sea of clouds to the west.
Main Range Ski Touring - 2-3 May 2009
An overnight trip out to Alice Rawson Peak from Charlotte Pass after a couple of decent early season snowfalls.
2008 Trip Reports
New Zealand Road Trip - October 2008
A south island road trip. Included a great walk up to Mueller Hut, some walks around the Hooker and Mueller Glaciers, car touring around Twizel, a cruise around Milford Sound, Lake Matheson and Fox Glacier, and road trip to Kaikoura. We had great ealry morning views of the southern alps on the way home.
Main Range Ski Trip - 23-26 August 2008
Standard Main Range Trip with Mark, Andrew and Justin. Camped at the top of Sentinel Ridge and built a nice snow cave. Skied Carruthers North Face, Crags North, Triple A.
Mt Anderson Tour 17 August 08 Report
Day tour from Guthega to Mt Tate to Mt Anderson. Great views of the north side of Watsons Crag. Unfortunately we were buzzed by helicopters sent to help find a skier that was buried by an avalanche at Blue Lake.
The Paralyser and Stanleys 2-3 August 08 Report
A day skiing Perisher with some after lunch runs at the Paralyser. Followed by a Thredbo day with some Stanleys thrown in.
Main Range Ski Trip - 23-24 July 2008
A quick one night trip out to Twynam West Spur from Guthega with Mark. We camped near tenison Woods Knoll. Skied north side of The Sentinel and Watsons Crags north.
Charlotte Pass / Main Range 11-12 July 08 Report
Camping near Charlotte Pass with Mirandah and a day tour up to Carruthers Peak to check on snow conditions.
Andrews Charlotte Pass / Twin Valleys 12 July 08 Report
Andrew toured out to the Twin Valleys from Charlotte Pass.
We drove in to Mt Speculation and then hiked out to Mt Buggery to camp. The following day we walked along the Cross Cut Saw then back to the car. Finished off the long weekend with a night up at The Horn (Mt Buffalo), some 4wd to check out Feathertop and Bogong access and camping up at Stoney Tops.
2007 Trip Reports
Road trip from Sydney out to Mildura area. Camped at Murray sunset national park in 45 degree heat. Did some boating and floating on the Murray. Then drove down to the Coorong for a night. Back to Renmark and then through to Dubbo.
Main Range Ski Trip - August 2007
A few days on the Main Range with Mark. We left from Charlotte Pass and camped out near the Sentinel. Skied Alice rawson and Crags north. Some nice sunsets from Carruthers Peak and the Crags.
